Terms of use

The deal, in language you shouldn't need a lawyer for

Short version: you pay yearly, the software runs on your computer, it hands you a draft you review yourself, and if it isn't right for you we refund you.

1. What Falcon is

Falcon is software you run on your own computer. It reads bank and credit-card statements, helps you sort transactions into tax categories in plain English, keeps your documents organized year to year, and assembles a draft Form 1065 with a Schedule K-1 for each member.

It is a preparation and organizing tool. It is not a tax preparer, not a CPA, and not an IRS e-file provider.

2. What it is not

Nothing Falcon produces is tax, legal or financial advice. The output is a draft for you to review, correct, and decide what to do with.

Falcon does not file anything with the IRS or any state on your behalf. It does not review your return, and no professional at Falcon looks at your numbers.

Bank statements cannot see everything a return needs — depreciation schedules, basis and at-risk limits, elections, prior-year carryovers and state-specific requirements among them. Falcon asks about the common gaps, but you are responsible for the accuracy and completeness of anything you file.

3. Your licence

A licence costs $49 per year and covers one LLC. It is a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use Falcon for the term of the licence.

There is no device limit — install it on as many of your own computers as you find useful. You may not resell, sublicense, or share your key publicly, and you may not attempt to circumvent licence verification.

When a licence expires, the app stops preparing new returns. Files already written to your computer — archives, drafts, statements — remain yours and remain readable.

4. Payment and refunds

Payment is processed by our payment provider; we never receive or store your card details. Licences are billed per year and are not auto-renewing unless you choose otherwise at checkout.

If Falcon isn't right for you, email us within 30 days of purchase for a full refund. We'd rather refund you than have you file with a tool that doesn't fit.

5. Your data

Your statements, transactions, drafts and archives stay on your computer. We do not collect or store them. See the security page for the full account of what is and isn't held on our side.

Because the data lives on your machine, backups are your responsibility. We cannot recover files lost to a failed drive, a deleted folder, or a reinstalled operating system.

6. Availability and changes

Falcon is provided as-is. We update tax-year forms and calculations with reasonable care, but tax rules change and software has bugs. We may change features between versions.

We may update these terms; material changes will be reflected in the date below and, for existing licence holders, will not apply retroactively to the term you already paid for.

7. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim relating to Falcon is limited to the amount you paid for your current licence term.

We are not liable for penalties, interest, additional tax, professional fees or other losses arising from a return you prepare or file. You review the draft; you decide what to file; that decision is yours.

8. When to get a professional

If your LLC has foreign partners, holds inventory, changed ownership mid-year, added or lost a member, or you simply feel out of your depth — stop and speak to a CPA or enrolled agent. Our eligibility check flags these situations, and the honest answer is sometimes that Falcon isn't the right tool for your year.
